How to register for the covid vaccine for 18+ individuals?

The government recently announced that they will be opening the vaccination program for the Covid-19 vaccine for individuals above the age of 18 on May 1. However, many people are still unaware of the same and are confused about how to register for the vaccine.

It is mandatory to register online to get your dose of vaccine

There are two ways you can register for the vaccine:

1. Co-Win website:

To register using the Co-Win Website, you need to:

  • Go to the Co-Win website  and click on Register
  • Add your mobile number and verify themselves via a one-time password (OTP)
  • Once your mobile number is verified, a new page “Registration of Vaccination” will open.
  • On the page, enter all your details including which photo ID proof you want to use, name, gender, and year of birth, etc.
  • Once you fill in the required details, you are supposed to Schedule/find a slot for your vaccine in your area or pin code.
  • Once you put your pin-code, the website will show you the available slots in hospitals for vaccination. Select the date and time and confirm it.

Once you are done with the above-mentioned process, you would receive an SMS on your registered mobile number mentioning the details about the location, time and date of the vaccination centre.

2. Aarogya Setu Application:

To register using the Aarogya Setu Application, you need to:

  • Download the Application from Google Playstore or Apple App Store.
  • When you open the application, you are required to grant permissions like location, Bluetooth, etc.
  • Once the permissions are granted, you are required to register your mobile number using an OTP that you shall receive on the number.
  • The next step is to go to the “Vaccination Registration ” tab in the application.
  • You might need to enter your mobile number again and verify it using an OTP.
  • Once verified, fill in the required details like Name, Gender, Date of birth, Photo ID, etc. and continue with pressing ‘Register’
  • Once registered, you can go on and select/search your vaccination center depending on your pin code and select the date and time.

Just like the Co-Win portal/website, once the registration is completed, you would receive an SMS on your registered mobile number mentioning the details about the location, time, and date of the vaccination center.

Required Documents for Registration:

It is mandatory to have the physical copy of your document uploaded for photo verification when you go to the centre for vaccination. Some of the required documents for registration are:

  • Aadhaar card
  • Driving license
  • PAN card
  • Passbooks issued by bank/post-office
  • Passport
  • Voter ID card

Despite rumors about the shortage of vaccine doses for individuals, the government has been persistent in its efforts to get all its citizens vaccinated and we request all our readers to register and get their first dose of vaccine as soon as possible.
